150g sst
Viht-N150
Lapua brass
Fire fired case lengthed trim ect
Cci large rifle primer
15thou off lands

Quick target test today on some home loads
3 loads of each starting 51gr up to 54gr
This was just to find what my rifle liked and to see what was what and what I could run before pressure signs.

So load started 1-10
51.0gr (should have brought my shot gun)
51.5gr 3 shot flyer
52.0gr 3 shot flyer
52.5gr looking good
53.0gr clover leaf
53.3gr 1/4”
53.5gr hole on hole
53.8gr light pressure sign 1/4”
53.9gr pressure signs (only shot the one)
54.0gr didn’t shoot

Once the groups started to tighten i set up the chronograph and letting the barrel cool with my compressed air pump.

53gr 2903fps 2904fps 2914fps
53.3gr 2920fps 2938fps 2928fps
53.5gr 2943fps 2957fps 2952fps
53.8gr 2937fps 2937fps 2928fps why did this drop!!!!!

I stopped choreographing as I saw the sweet spot but looking at the above would you guys or do you guys use magnum primers in your 30-06 reloads what have you found better or more consistent

I will load ten of each up and chronograph them all to find that perfect load and then start sending them out to distance but I think the 53.5gr is mustard.

Any thoughts on the above to improve or gains just want to get everything perfect before i start on some new brass.
Do you think I should play around with bullet jump or just stick on the 53.5gr and what I’m doing.

Looks like 53.5g gives a nice flat spot on velocity and if it's giving good groups, leave it. Load some more up for some more groups to establish not a fluke and ensure it likes them and crack on.

Good testing. Will be doing the same myself soon for the 30-06. The chronograph data will be interesting as I will be using RS62 with same bullet weight

53.5gn looks like the winner - go with that 👍🏻
