300 PRC on NRA ranges

I have had a brief discussion on the use of 300 PRC on club range, with the required information being the "official" muzzle energy in joules..My Google fu is weak it seems, and I cannot seem to track this bit of info down.
Very much sure it will exceed 300wm, and therefore be subject to additional checks and conditions.
Anybody direct me to the official figure ?

Max allowable muzzle energy is 7000 joules.

HME is any rifle with a cartridge generating between 4500 & 7000 joules.

HME zero process MUST be followed prior to shooting on ranges with any HME rifle/cartridge - targets available from range office.

For the avoidance of doubt, the muzzle energy will be assumed to be that from a factory loaded round of given bullet weight to avoid instances of 'down loaded' 😉 ammunition being used which is actually HME.

Thanks chaps, but still looking for the generic official figure for 300prc, even though I'm damn sure it will bring it into HME territory.

Yup, with 300wm being HME, there was little doubt it would be in that bracket. Many thanks folks.

Not the definitive answer you want but that’s all dependant on powder, bullet weight & barrel length & confirming with a crono.
I found in the Nosler reloading book a chart towards the back which gave energy in Joules & is a reasonable reference to begin.

Mine does 3069 fps @ 10°C out of a 26" barrel using a 212gr bullet with a lot of RS76 powder confirmed by magnetospeed v3 chrono if that helps, definitely HME.

Just do the HME zero card every time you go there and there is CCTV on the range so no sharp pens to make the holes 🤣 then your away! but your need HME on your card it's a stupid 20min sit down at a price at Bisley this has to be booked ! or if your club do it then they can add it on you ssc.
Ps they do like you to use a nice 5 hole brake🤔😎.
It's an HME there's no point in down loading your proven loads ? So if you wish to play it's on there rules enjoy.
If it were me I'd spend my cash in Wales at Orian sweetlamb ranges and have at the mile and anything else I wish to try my luck on.

Thanks everyone. This was after a chat with club secretary, but truth be told I'm unlikely to use the big gun on their range. It's more for our own private but, and Eskdalemuir, and any others like you mention @paul o' .

If I were to do HME again I'd just get a another 338 or 416 and use it at Orian and enjoy my day without any badge waving NRA bods scowling at the rifle report 🤔 like some chumley warner!!:norty:

I was given an Hme target and worked out my drop at the 25yd zero butt's.
What I did was put up a sheet of paper to the left and used this to make my corrections until I knew I was able to place all the shots needed within the target zone this I then noted as HME zero from my 300yrd proved zero.
Each time I visited I just dialed in the zero and shot it's far easier than ****ing around .

5,412 J WinMag, PRC 5,219 ??
Was more the (minimal)difference in trajectory, I believe the zero targets are specific to cartridge and possibly bullet and trajectory.

The PRC being designed to shoot longer more efficient bullets would give a different trajectory for the zero target.

I suppose I am asking how anal the guys in the range office will be about the zero target used.

Need to suss it out as picked up the PRC this week!

So in theory I can buy a target, then work out the drops from my 200 yard zero on my ground (AOLQ) or at club number 2 and I’ll know what to dial at Bisley. 👍

Yup it's as easy as that if you read there bla bla you have a dot to aim at then your bullet has to stay within the box above this is OK if your a target shooter with say 600 zero but not if the rifle is used for hunting and target lol.
The NRA just don't understand not everyone is a patch wearing , cap and eye patch leather clad waffle eater.
