308 Copper load data needed

First of all - I have never reloaded before.

I’ve been thinking about making the switch to copper recently and have also had a friend offer to reload for me who’s powder of choice is Imr 4955.

I’ve been looking at the BARNES TIPPED TSX 30 CAL 130 GR TTSX BT to use.

Does anyone have a suggest powder amount for Imr 4955 using BARNES TIPPED TSX 30 CAL 130 GR TTSX BT bullets?

Secondly will it make a difference if I mix brass? I have a lot of federal some Winchester and some Hornady, should I only use one case or won’t it matter?

I’m not the one doing the reloading. Someone with decades of experience is. I was just wondering if anyone had used that combination and if so what powder amount they suggested.

Worth getting your friend to check in on the legalities before making ammo for you. Personally I wouldn't reload for anyone but myself. Have a read on here on the dangers and legal reasons on using another persons home load as it has been discussed in detail before.

Best to read the reloading manual a few times like cjs66 has suggested as it will answer most of your queries.

Thank you for the replies.
Reloading is not something I intend to get into.
If it’s going to be this much faff and risk I’ll stick to factory and move to copper when I’ve run out of my supply of lead.

IMR Enduron 4955 doesn't seem a good choice for 308, especially when "light for caliber" 130gr bullet is used. It's geared for more overbore cartridges, thus 308 load data is scarce.

Your friend might have good reason for selecting this powder. Or he might not. Bluntly said, decades of experience in reloading, doesn't mean he's experienced reloader. And being experienced reloader doesn't mean one is good at selecting components for a new reload.

Regarding the legalities etc. I suggest you meet your friend, go through different steps in reloading and make the critical steps yourself, guided by him. After all, putting a round together is only 1/4-1/3 of the job required to make decent reloads. When everything is prepared you can easily crank 100rds in an hour, so time is not really a reason to give up.

100 rounds an hour?!

I’m clearly doing it wrong as I probably manage 10 rounds an hour!

And in response to your questions i don't think its helpful to mix brass. Try to limit the variables and using the same brass will be one of the easiest ways to do this.
