Had my LWB 2.8TD Pajero about 18 months now and it's a great motor, everybody thinks I'm a Gypo when I turn up in it though

Parts are cheap & readily available, plenty on the bay.
The diesel's suffer with front seal fuel pump problems though. Basically our diesel is lower sulphur to the Jap's and the seal fails because of this and starts to let oil & air in the fuel which causes starting problems and in the long run if not sorted the oil will cause injector/pump problems.
Did mine myself, seal was only a tenner off the bay,but it's
not a job for the faint hearted, so make sure it doesn't need doing or priced accordingly, the cheapest place I found(in Lymington, Hants) charged £200 to do it, main dealers will be £500+
Unless you take their word for it, it's difficult to check for, unless starting first thing from cold, as once they're up & running they're usually fine for the rest of the day.
