Finally got round to reloading for the 6.5*55.
I’ve set the seating die up to seat the bullet to leave an overall length of 3.15” as stated in the lee and Lyman reloading manuals. Sorry if I’m showing my ignorance but it just doesn’t look right if that makes any sense. I’ve measured shop bought, both Hornady sst and some ppu I had in cabinet and both measure 2.9”. The reloaded rounds chamber easy enough. I’d appreciate any advice. Thanks

I always set mine at 3" oal works for me you can experiment withe seating bullets stay safe.SS

If they chamber ok then I'd be inclined to go with the load data. As long as there's enough bullet seated in the cartridge neck then you'll be fine. What bullet are you loading?

If you really don't like the look of it then there's no harm in seating the bullets deeper and working up with those.
