hey everyone just wondered if anybody is reloading 143g hornady eld in 6.5 creedmoor, if so what powder are you using? thanks

I take it you find the Viht data a tad conservative…?
yes a tad, i worked up slowly with no pressure signs and im 3gr's over there limit and i could go further but i dont feel the need to, vitovouri is definitely quite conservative in my opinion.

I'm a Creed survivor, managed to quit and been clean now for six months. But the hankering for a 6 or a 25 Creed could drag me back into that seedy world...
I ran lighter bullets, 130, but the ES was best running N555

Always post barrel length when quoting speed. Every inch is work 20 to 25fps it’s a free lunch to be honest. I’m currently using factory Hornady white tail or whatever 129gr at 2600 to 2650fp out of a 20” barrel.

for my saum i wont be far off that 😂
Yes thats looking like a near PRC load. Must be a bit of crunching on the pooder.

The Viht data is not that conservative.

Rather these loads are significantly over Saami pressure (63,000 psi) i.e. well north of 70,000 psi. 2850fps is not a Creedmoor load, it is considerably in excess of the realistic max. I am not being an wisened old prune here. I have experience in loading significantly in excess of Saami maximum pressures (and considerably exceedingly the posters 2850fps) and it is possible with the right gunsmithing, reloading components and techniques. If people think these loads are safe they could entertain themselves by getting a mic on the case at the web and gauging the primer pocket.

Believing the Viht data is conservative by 5.8 grains risks someone getting a faceful of bolt. It is not, these loads are hugely over pressure and Quickload has a fit when you run the analysis.

Danger territory. DO NOT GO THERE

A "safe" load is 2700fps or so for the Creed?

If you want a PRC, buy one.
