i thought the prc was always marketed as 3000 for a 143gr by hornady, ive ran the same load for about a year now and i havent experienced any problems with brass yet or any pressure signs like ejector smears or createring primers and im not advising this load for anyone because i have worked this up in my own rifle extremely slowly until i felt it was getting over pressured so i took half a grain off, thank u very much for your advice tho. forgot to say, my creed is a 26 inch barrel so i get a fair bit more velocity than a shorter one.Yes thats looking like a near PRC load. Must be a bit of crunching on the pooder.
I am at 2860 on the 143gr ELD-X with N550. Defo not a Creedmoor load and lots of warnings on Quickload before this increment. Normal brass and primers are going to be "challenged" by loads like that. If they give way you will get a face full of bolt. I am running very specific, new brass and the next load increment was deforming the powder pocket even on them. I could get 2960fps (= Hornady ammo PRC load) but the brass will be ****ed after a couple of firings.
I don't think the Viht data is conservative, rather these loads are significantly over Saami pressure (63,000 psi) i.e. well north of 70,000 psi. Danger territory. DO NOT GO THERE
A sensible load is 2700fps or so for the Creed?
