Muzzle flip ! The chambering no different to a .270 in felt recoil terms , the issue is muzzle flip , especially in those rifles that built with reduced weight in mind as in a stalking rifle. If you want to see your impact with this chambering you need a big can/ brake or both . Especially if your using Hot 140 / 150+ grn home loads.

Why increase noise to reduce recoil on such a light recoiling calibre?

To see the strike on the deer and not lose sight picture.
My rifle is pretty light being in the PSE Evo stock, so it certainly helps
