About to start loading for my 6.5 x 55. My rifle is a blaser r93. Does anyone know what overall length I should aim for, or would this vary for bullet?? I am the first to confess i am still learning and want to be safe, however I have loaded for my 308 before under guidance. I have 129 sst bullets and some 120 sierras. Am I right in thinking a few empty cases loaded first to get the bullet depth right would be a good idea?? Thankyou

Do a bit of reading on the subject. Modern reloading by richard lee is a good one and also the ABCs of reloading by bill chevalier. You should be using data that will have the max overall length on it and in theory if you stay at below it, keep to the data and keep everything consistent you won't have any trouble but there is a lot more to it than that so I would do some reading until you are happy.
