7mm-08 or .284??

I have 7mm/284 on my FAC and a very reputable dealer has ordered me a 7mm-08 on the strength of it. I'll put a few thousand rounds through before I decided whether or not to have it re-barreled to 284.
I know someone who shoots very accurately with a 24" barreled .284.
I think the 284 was designed to compete with a 270, but with a short action.

Out of interest what is listed on your ammo section?

If it’s just 7mm then surely you could go buy 7 mm RM or 7x64?

Forget so called ballistic advantages when your shooting 243 win or over up to say 200 yards ! Just because its irrelevant in terms of what we do
Terminal effect is reinvent but thats more to do with the selected bullet than the dimension of the bore . Take for example 243 55 grain bt to 100 grain nosler partition . Copper and brass monolithic , zinc core copper
Its not width or length its what you do with it !

I use 110gn ttsx @around 3300 in mine, very little meat damage on Roe and ok upto about 300yds beyond that you need a better BC bullet to cheat the wind.
