I have saw a lot of videos stating that factory is very very slow.
It’s a cartridge that you must home load for to get the performance out of it.

Yes definitely home loading is the way to go. I thought Hornady change the powder blend they used so no slower than the original ones

IMO this should be a 1:7” cartridge to take advantage of the Sierra 197s….

Well earlier today I put down a deposit on a 7mmPRC and submitted the variation.

I plan it to be a slow build as the rifle was more than I would’ve liked.

This was also likely get me into reloading until other manufacturers start producing cheaper ammo. In the interim I’ll be shooting the 160gr Outfitter

are there not limited gunmakers who do 7 PRC? Blaser and Sauer don’t. Presumably you can’t get a 7mm PRC barrel for them. I think Sako no do in a few offerings. I have 7 RM on ticket but would rather 7 PRC

There’s quite a long list now they’re becoming more popular. I almost went with a weatherby 307

Tikka Ace Game Cerekote came up.
I’ve 2 other tikkas so if I’m not a fan of the chassis I can switch it around.

The Tikka 7prc’s landed in the UK last week and started trickling into dealers over the last few days. Can see availability on guntrader for the ace chambered for this cartridge now.

I’m picking mine up today after ordering back in Feb, like you, if I dislike the chassis I’ll just order a PSE and be done with it.

They wouldnt condition 7PRC for deer, however said I could have 300WM instead....

Just shows they have a ridiculously poor understanding of CF rifles. And yet we now pay more for that "service".

i'm ordering 7PRC and 300 PRC reamers in the next week or so...

the 6.5 is getting really popular, doing 2 this week and another in September when the barrel arrives.

the 300 is going to be a little "project" gun for the business, ELR capable/Long range hunting repeater

That’s interesting it’s a 300WM slot I’ve offered up in exchange.

If they say know, it’s hundreds of pounds of reloading guy I won’t need to buy, and I’m sure I can move my deposit across to a WM. It’s just the 6-9month wait for a tikka in that calibre has been putting me off!
