7x75

Large bullet and medium velocity, nothing like the damage of a fast 30-06 or .223 but then damage is often bullet choice and shot placement.

I like accuracy and moderate speed every time :thumb:

I use a stout 173 grain bullet in the 7x57R at the moment for Fallow and Muntjac, no complaints from me
Yep. Soft point and accuracy over mv for me as well. I was just curious as to what sort of meat damage there is on Roe . Obviously bullet choice is key

I lately read on the internet of a No4 rifle being rebarrelled to 7x57R.
Has anyone any real experience of this interesting conversion?
Probably minimal difference to the .303, but given that the the 7x57R was never a military calibre, may allow you to use a No4 when military calibres not allowed. The 7x57R case is very similar in shape and size to the 303. And pressures will be similar. If you consider the differences between 7mm-08 and 308 win, you would have similar between 303 and 7x57R.

And remember that in Boer war the 303 used a heavy round nosed bullet, not the later spitzer bullet that it went through the 2nd war with.
