Wanted: A bit of "hunting" AND a riding safari?

Trying to combine different family ambitions into one trip for the first proper big holiday for years, and probably last as a family. Looking for any guidance on where to start. My wife wants to take our 24 yr old daughter on a riding holiday, having been to Peru and India and loved both, looking at Wyoming/Montana or Africa. I travelled a fair bit in Africa in my 20's and promised them a trip at some point.

Thinking Africa for the best chance of combining a riding safari for them and some hunting / foot safari for me as I'm 2 stone too heavy to get on the usual African horses! They're properly competent (wife evented and daughter is an amateur jockey), and I'm not after trophies (but wouldn't mind a souvenir or 2!). Worst case I'd enjoy a foot safari with a proper guide with a camera.

On the other hand what about the US, same idea?

I realise a broad ask but any bright ideas or experience?!

Thanks

I don't know about the hunting side of things, but I've seen promos for some awesome riding holidays in Argentina. Surely there must be hunting opportunities there too?

Thanks VSS - they had looked at Patagonia, daughter speaks Spanish, so I will investigate. Just the sort of bright idea I was looking for, but I will have to look for a plateau, don't fancy stalking the Andes these days!

I knocked about near Buenos Aeries in 1996 and did a little bird hunting so it is do able. Caza minor or caza Major google as a start.

Look up on Instagram @estancias_patagonia for the horse riding. It looks absolutely beyond amazing!
And there's a few hunting outfitters advertising online too, such as

Another possible destination might be Iceland. Seen some pretty awesome riding holidays advertised there, plus reindeer hunting.

Dear GBR66 we at Limpopo North can assist you with this request in the majestic Waterberg region of Limpopo we offer horseback safaris, and walk in safaris guided by qualified guides to experience nature up close and personal, we can add one or two non-trophy or cull animals to your trip to make it more memorable.

Ill send you a DM.

Sampie

There are also places to ride south of Kruger in the Malalane area which can be supplemented by driving into Kruger national park for a few days

I have been looking at horse back hunt for red deer in Patagonia, the reds are a lot more expensive than in Scotland but it's the whole experience that you have to consider. It won't be this year as I have something else planned but my wife is interested in Patagonia, so hopefully next year.

ARU game lodges Namibia , speak to Danene she has some nice horses , she has 2 lodges tell her what you fancy, tap on some Namibia sights or trips LUXURY and Danene will sort direct so no agents etc or take a week there and somewhere else maybe in SA

One thing too consider with the states Is most outfitters that use packing and riding horses actually rent them for the season from local equine businesses, you might be able too coordinate with certian outfitters and there owners too have riding available in the unit your hunting.

Dependant on state too, the scenery Is beautiful.

There are several hunting ranches in the Tuli block area of Botswana, the horse safari operator should be able to put you in touch with someone local to them.

What about Ibex in Kyrgyzstan? You would be on horseback for several hrs per day. Cost for three of you would be around £9k. Accommodation is very basic, Yurt or wooden shack, food is also very basic, wild toilets, etc, but the country side is fantastic and great hunting. You will see ibex, Marco polo, fox possibly bear (well saw several) and wolf. It does need a good level of fitness.
