Yep that’s it. I did indeed. Probably hunted there 5/6 times then switched to Niassa

Another thought. An aussi PH I also hunted with years ago. Ron Cowan. I think he and his wife also ran one of the photo safari camps too

I guess you would know Peter Chipman. Hunted with him a few times. Buffalo and elephant. Some good crocs and hippo there too

That’s really interesting as his name came up when I was researching non-Zim destinations for 2026 due to the arms embargo. Presumably you have had good experiences with Peter’s outfit if you went so many times?

Excellent! Yes its changed a bit since then, still the odd landmine leftover from the bushwar and a few more villages sprinkled along the dirt track towards the Park boundary. Its still pretty wild but the game around the GMA has been heavily poached. I hunted the GMA for a few buffalo and also doing Problem Animal Control. Some special memmories! One wounded buff we tracked over 3 consecutive days which had been hammering villagers, was in a right state, i shot her in thick Kasaka bush ( jesse Combrettum ) around 10 metres away and i found she had 3 snare wounds and 2 muzzle loader wounds. No wonder she was so angry with humans.

I loved Zambia.
A school friend emigrated there in the seventies and I was lucky enought to hunt with his fiancee's father.
We hunted west of Kafue NP. Mfunta I believe.
Also hunted Kafue Lechwe with Nicky Blunt at Lochinvar.
Hunted with Sten Cedegren in Chiawa.
As you said we were warned about landmines !

Yes Ron & Anke, his german wife, they owned a camp called Kafunta, still do, but they spend mnost of their time in Ozz now. He was a good chap, modelled himself on Mick Dundee You have hunted some good country

An old friend went with his family to Home - Imvelo Safari Lodges in Hwange and loved it. I'm taking the wife next month, we are doing a day or two in Vic Falls either end of it as are flying in and out of there
