A wee trailer project

I was thinking on buying a small trailer for deer extraction but decided to make my own, plus this will save the bottom of my Slee Sled on forest roads the sled is very easily removed the lot fits well in my trailer.

Ideal and simple .. I’ve got something similar except no tie downs so I had to fit a length of plastic along the back from side to side to stop them from bouncing of the back on steep ground .I had 4 in the back o mine and by the time I got back to the vehicle I had lost 2 . It works no bother now .

I just use a old erdi trailer, they all do the job plus I like to cover them when going through the mud

Aye the older you get the more extraction kit you need

Trailer is a diamond...now while that is working some thought is required to devise some form of mud flap, that folds into nothing. Stays in the right place, keeps splatter to a minimum.

Not sure about light-weights, but I didn't think home-made trailers were allowed on the road any more.

Just curious, what did you use as stub axle, hubs? Did you just weld the stub right into the box section?

I was in the cab of a pick up in SA with my friends Dad driving across a farm to a job with 7 workers, only 6 when we got there 1 had bounced out! Gert said they should hang on better.

Just curious, what did you use as stub axle, hubs? Did you just weld the stub right into the box section?

I just bought stub axle, hub and wheel configuration complete. When I made mine (Quad (ATV) Mods!) I spec'd the box section so the stub axle slides snuggly inside and then just drop a pin through with an R-clip or similar. Wheels and stub axle comes out for transport and the frame goes under the quad in the bed of the trailer.
