Have you mailed PRIVI to see if they are aware?
As I understand it (and it's been a few years) but importing/exporting was largely done via how much of what could fit in how many full shipping containers. If what you wanted only filled up one, and half of a second shipping container, then the costs quickly ate up any profit.I can only assume a minimum stock/order issue. There's a small number of chamberings in the range I'd imagine wouldn't sell here, but a good few that definitely would. Not talking about PRIVI.
I suppose it could be. I've seen it around (it isn't uncommon), but it's pricey. In economic times right now, I'd think they'd have plenty to sell, but could be totally wrong.Could it also be that ADG can only barely keep up with US domestic demand ?
I spoke to a trade contact there, said he wasn't buying any more in as the stock of brass he had wasn't shifting.I suppose it could be. I've seen it around (it isn't uncommon), but it's pricey. In economic times right now, I'd think they'd have plenty to sell, but could be totally wrong.
I know you guys seem to be still feeling the pinch from the run on components after Ukraine kicked off, but here ammo and components are beginning to sit on shelves a good amount of time. Prices are (slowly) coming down (they'll never reach previous prices, but they are not the stupid level prices we saw several years ago).
6.5PRC necked up to 7PRC solves that issue.I spoke to a trade contact there, said he wasn't buying any more in as the stock of brass he had wasn't shifting.
Yet Google tells me there's a shortage of 7prc brass generally ?
Surely some confusion there, entirely different, unless you're referring to 7-6.5 ?6.5PRC necked up to 7PRC solves that issue.
I guess I'm not following. You said there was a shortage of 7PRC brass. Cannot 6.5PRC brass be necked up to 7PRC?Surely some confusion there, entirely different, unless you're referring to 7-6.5 ?
I don't believe it can. I have one of each in my hand currently and the 7PRC is maybe half an inch longer than the 6.5PRCI guess I'm not following. You said there was a shortage of 7PRC brass. Cannot 6.5PRC brass be necked up to 7PRC?
Yeah, as soon as I posted a response, I went and looked. You'd need to form it from 300PRC (and do it in steps with annealing in between steps most likely).I don't believe it can. I have one of each in my hand currently and the 7PRC is maybe half an inch longer than the 6.5PRC
It seems that ADG is a relatively small company and the US market is indeed huge, their brass is now available on many of the large reloading retail websites. I'm guessing that the UK market is inconsequential to their business growth. There brass is very highly rated but it is expensive and would arrive in the UK at a very large cost premium.Could it also be that ADG can only barely keep up with US domestic demand ?
There have recently been a couple of threads on the Long Range Hunting forum complaining of poor quality control with ADG brass.I use ADG in my 300, it's lovely stuff to work. I'd really like to use it in an impending 7prc, but its looking unlikely.
