Not particularly confidence building is it ! It's only that 1 case and I can't feel anything on the inside .
As you rightly point out , a little high for incipient case separation. I may take the mini tool to it and look . On the plus side , there were 102 cases as opposed to 100

I get similar marks on brass that's rattled about in some types of ammo box.
I had been told this from UK Gunwerks distribution. The Gunwerks brass I have seen (oddly mainly in 7PRC) seems to have performed just fine. Have a batch of 6.5PRC ready to run just now.
Weatherby were OK on 7PRC brass - made by Norma - but not clear who the UK distributor is - E&S no longer in the chair.

The Gunwerks brass comes in a poly bag and the ammo box is a foam lined affair . None of the others have a line , just this one and it's very obvious. I suspect if you found this , you wouldn't shoot it either.
Perhaps it's just one poor piece of brass?

Have you run something inside to detect any edges, crack ?
You may be right. I wouldn't rule out the possibility that in the roll of brass for the cups, there might be a piece/cup where the copper and zinc didn't mix properly.

Yep and I can't feel anything , you can feel it on the outside with a thumbnail.

Scrap, not worth the risk.
That wouldn’t work either……
3 cartridges, 3 quite different lengths.
Lapua 7 PRC brass is now available, I’d go with that first.
