I would want him to have all the certificates first then experience would be good........there are a lot of back street butchers with lots of experience and no qualifications...........i dont think you used the best example but i get the idea of what you are meaning.......

Mmmm is your statement a reflection on the fact you appear to have more qualifications than my neurolinguistic programming practitioner....

Is it only me that thinks that candidates who have passed this course and have only been involved in stalking the time they have taken to complete the course, is equivalent to the saying "all the clobber what a nobber" . Seems to me there are far to many cocks out there passing themselves off as experts based on them passing an exam!

Any chance you just had your stalking "stolen" by someone who's done this course?

Given that BDS, at least, used to recommend that candidates for the Advanced Deer Managers course had completed DSC2, I don't quite see where you're coming from?

P.S. I see now that the recommendation is DSC1: The British Deer Society - BDS Deer Management Course

GZi.. welcome to the SD.. an interesting thread, and interesting topic, so thank you!

I do see people around me getting qualifications after learning the subject or the answers and passing the tests, this happens in any walk of life and yes it does grip my faeces.

However my argument is that just because you have been 'on the tools' as you put it for years doesnt mean you have been using them correctly. Its like the whole concept of grandfather rights.. just because you were born before a certain date, means you dont need to do a trailer test, does this make you safer than a young lad whose had to do the test? Maybe, but also probably not.. Just because a stalker has been shooting deer for umpteen years doesnt make him good at it, competent or safe.

If the person with 'time on tools' wants to prove himself, do the tests.. then hes proven hes met the standards and he has the experience..

Excellent reply Ben.

Not having any papers these days restricts your employment opportunities as it seems youve found out , DSC1/2 etc shows you've taken time to learn / prove you know something , quite a lot actually , theres plenty of older guys with no certificates in anything whove been stalking for donkeys years ...quite badly , then theres plenty of older guys who could walk anything the BDS can through at them but dont because they dont have to.

If youre desired line of employment requires qualifications then I suggest you stop whinging , cough up and take the necessary courses:smug:

All true, my point is you have to have both and there must be a level of "on the tools" to qualify for the test. Not any cock who pays the piper.

Nothing to do with employment, far from it it's to do with bragging cocks and over inflated self opinionated bell ends.

I had to chuckle at that last post mate someone has seriously rubbed you up the wrong way eh?

Care to enlighten us any more as to the circumstances? You've certainly made an impressive start to life on the forum (unless you are already a member in another guise of course and just want to vent?) ;-)
