Can't disagree - most of mine are bright colours and stainless and go straight in the dishwasher, sheath as well (the all plastic ones anyway)

The mora 2000 is a nice upgrade from the basic or the companion, or the Kansbol is a slightly nicer again version of the 2000.

Did you find a knife? I’ve got this Bojer that I bought on a whim but won’t ever use as it’s a bit too bushcrafty for me.

I ended up getting one f those £10 Mora ones. It did the trick for what I needed so far. That knifes nice looking but i can see what you mean more bushcraft than a general purpose or gralloching.

i’d go onto facebook where the knife and bushcraft people hang out. they are always chopping and changing i’ve seen so nice sharps go for not a lot. for a few € more there are Scandinavian hobbyists pages with some nice work

Agreed muntjac to splitting logs into kindling it’s great and easy to sharpen as well. Sheath is a bit pony but there is a guy on eBay who makes after market ones that are much better.

Casström are a solid knife for circa £100. I know that's twice what you said you wanted to pay but I've had mine through three years of abuse around the house and in the field and its brilliant. UK customer support is also top noch

Recently developed a carbon polymer handle for it. The basic polymer handles exceeded Victorinox polypropylene vs impact deformation but so why stop there.
So first attempts to fit it were complex due to the polymer shrinking characteristic so can't be simply produced using the design and machine and only iterations were able to get it to fit precise.
First attempts involve a sledge hammer with hardwood in between and the handle did not crack. The Record 52 1/2 vice locked and had to use the release and a wedge to reopen it so its been tested over and beyond.
Handle can now be replaced in under a minute with a lightish wood mallet or steel hammer with a pine wood plank between.
