Because, you can have a good result in a park once,but that doesn't mean it will always be the same. The more you shoot in a park,the greater the chance you'll f##k up! And I've seen X Royal Marine snipers do just that! Don't get me wrong,95 % of all the shots I've taken at park deer have been head or neck shots.
Also,I head shot a deer in the park where I work on Wednesday this week at 270 yards.Why,because I had to because it was wounded,and it was the only shot I had. I'm not knocking people taking head or neck shots,because I've done that most of my life. But,you must know you're rifle and bullet drop at various ranges,not just guess.

Nothing to do with how magic I am at all. The Estate wanted head or neck shots in the park because they could get a better price for the carcasses. So,knowing that I made sure I knew I could make clean head or neck shots. Meaning,I know the Drop of my bullets at any given range,and that they are accurate. Plus,I know what range the shots being taken at,no,oh I think it's only so far,and then being miles out. So,basically I leave no stone unturned when it comes to making the best shot I can. Oh,and I practice. I'm out this evening on the deer,and if a deer shows up,I'll chest shoot it. I'm not really bothered what other people think because what I do works for me. You do your own thing.

My situation was the same.

So,knowing that I made sure I knew I could make clean head or neck shots.

So did I.

Meaning,I know the Drop of my bullets at any given range,and that they are accurate. Plus,I know what range the shots being taken at,no,oh I think it's only so far,and then being miles out.

I know the drops for the distances I am comfortable shooting at. Where I was, no drop compensation was required.

So,basically I leave no stone unturned when it comes to making the best shot I can. Oh,and I practice.

Mate of mine is ex marine,.did some stuff with long rifles. Terrible shot he openly says they're shooting BIG targets and frequently guide bullets in, extremely rarely getting first round impacts at range. The 'marine sniper' means absolutely nothing.

Sorry for the late reply,I've been busy. My mate is an X-Royal Marine Sniper,and he can out shoot 90-95% of people who shoot rifles. Plus,he's been close protection for at least a couple of Prime Ministers at chequers. If you really know how accurate you have to be to pass the first part of Royal Marine Sniper training, and,that doesn't mean you'll pass the stalking into range without being spotted part of Royal Marine training. Implying that British armed forces Snipers are sub standard,when,in affect they have access to the latest,and best,training in the world. Rant over.
