Angle grinder blade to cut antlers

I’m about to move house and have a stockpile of around 40 skulls sitting in an old compost bin.

I’ve decided I want to keep the antlers, and think an angle grinder would be the quickest way to get them all off.

Could anyone suggest what type of blade would be best?

Make sure its a thin cutting disc and not a grinding disc, Have you considered a reciprocating saw

You can get diamond tipped steel cutting discs also.

I think all roe. Possibly 1 sika.

If you already have a saw and some fine tooth blades it would probably be my preferred choice over a grinder

Do please wear a good mask. Bone or antler dust is not your lungs best friend.

I found this out the hard way a long time ago…

don't ! for one thing the dust is serious bad news when turned to dust not good for you at all but also a saw is better ! Hack saw , ricept say or wood saw ( still wear a mask ) . cut loads of them and i would never pick up one of my angle grinders with a slitting disc period !

The dust is not treated as a threat by the body , but it dammed sure bad for the lungs.. Do not get it in the air where it can be drawn in , and most power tools will get the dust airborn very easily .

Surely this is easily dealt with by using a mask and doing it outdoors?

I don’t see why an angle grinder would necessarily be such a disaster?

An angle grinder works fine, I have cut loads of antlers with a 1mm disc .

I would just use an ordinary wood saw.

Reciprocating saw would be my first thought with a fine toothed blade possibly a metal blade.
Il often use an old blunt bacho handsaw for cutting bones works a treat

1mm angle grinder disc is fine, I’ve cut hundreds of roe off in seconds for selling to the crafts market. Do it outside and wear a mask is probably beneficial.
