Annealing

Hello , does anyone on here anneal their brass if so which annealer do you recommend please, are the propane ones ok ? Does anyone sell a reasonably priced induction type? The AMP ones look nice but hell they’re expensive, thanks .

I just built one very easy. Cake tin small motor variable controller and some bearings and a flywheel the actual structure is a some left over plywood

I also use an “Ugly Annealer” very easy to setup and come with the bits for all except 50 bmg caliber.
They also sell very high quality trimmers for a great price, the primer tool is also ver good, I don’t have one of those

Who sells the Ugly Annealer in the UK? Any idea of price?
Order direct from Derraco I believe. I bought a comparator set from them and it arrived no different than buying from a U.K. supplier (maybe took a few more days).

Been salt bath annealing for a while now and it seems to give me pretty good and also pretty consistent results. Can be a bit scary though !
The thought of that going wrong was enough for me to rule it out, an AMP would be my first choice, however can get more use out of my limited income.
I paid around £180 for my Ugly 👍

I’m actually in the process of making an induction style annealer with an auto eject - potentially in the future include an auto feed . Once I’ve finished it I’ll post a video of it in action - it won’t be as cheap as an Ugly but will come in sub 500 I reckon!

There is a chap in NZ who has semi-open source plans for an automatic feeding induction annealer.

His automatic case feeder is open though - even gives the STEP files for the 3D printed parts.

A fair few people have made one.
