Once got belted with a school tawse I'd made myself, and didn't the teacher take some 'schadenfreude' in telling me at the time; he didn't reckon on joining the local, curling club (- nor those in the "new entrants welcoming committee" at the initiation ceremony) some years later, though, lol.
