My laser splash is almost level with the centre of the reticule and slightly to the right at distances from 100M to 250M, which suits me fine. Would be nice if it is adjustable though.

50 to 250 yards it's nearly off the screen on mag. It may be different mounted you never know all the ones I've seen on YouTube have the splash just above middle to left

I've been onto sgc and they say it needs to go back to them for lrf realignment. I don't intend on doing that it will go back to retailer once I get through to them. I will have another go tonight as there is no rain and see what it's like.
 
Well my DS35 arrived and I mounted it on the CF and went to zero it. One round fired and the below black spot appeared. Front lens is clear. I can only assume their is some loose debris inside the unit that came loose with the recoil. Back it goes to Blackwood...now down a foxing rifle until replaced, very annoying!

Bought the DS35 a couple of weeks ago and had it set up on my 0.243 and 0.308 but while completing final adjustments a black speck appeared on the screen so stopped zeroing but saved my adustments [X and Y]. Sent it back to Blackwoods thinking I would get a replacement but it was sent back to SGC for repair. Received it back on friday morning [27th Jan] and on checking the scope the piece of dirt was gone and all my ballistic data and reticule adjustments [A and B] were still saved so scope had not had a factory reset so thought I would just have to check my zero's on the range. On firing the 0.243 at 100yds I was just on the edge of the board [about 15" wide 3" low] the 0.308 was roughly the same but managed to zero them. Moved onto my 0.17HMR which was a long way off and required massive adjustment but when adjusting the reticule on the X plane to 100 the screen flared and all X and Y adjustments changed by themselves so abandoned any further settings, not happy! Would be interested to know how you got on with your scope when you got it back. Will be contacting Ian Blackwood tomorrow.

Seems like there are some QC issues, so luck of the draw. Just been out with mine, spot on again and the ballistic calculator works pretty well, just need that firmware update so we can see the BC cross hair overlay in the PiP window.

Hi yes it works on 17hmr recoil recording

I think there good enought for pcp rimfire 223 .243 6 5 but I would not put them on a .308 but that's my opinion . Also I tried low tier one rings but ram out elevation at 100yards with a 17hmr so put the high mounts back on and then I had plenty of elevation

Did you manage to get the firmware update for the PiP window
 
At the moment there is no firmware update to put the BC aiming point in the PiP window - and personally, I don't think there will be one
However, here is some info I have put together based on actual measurements of the field of view in the PiP box
For the DS35-50 at x2 digital zoom and with the PiP switched on so that there is x4 digital zoom in the PiP window, there is 7.5moa from the centre of the PiP reticle to the bottom of the PiP window
For the DS35-70 at x2 digital zoom and with the PiP switched on so there is x4 digital zoom in the PiP window, there is 5.5moa from the centre of the PiP reticle to the bottom of the PiP window
A couple of examples
1. A 22 rimfire zeroed at 50 yards shooting 40g subsonic bullets with an mv of 1050fps, a ballistic coefficient of 0.12 and a sight height of 2 inches would drop by 5.5moa at 91yards and 7.5moa at 101 yards, so any targets beyond those ranges would have a BC aiming point below the PiP window
2. A 22 sub12ftlb air rifle zeroed at 30 yards shooting 15.89g pellets with an mv of 590fps, a ballistic coefficient of 0.031 and a sight height of 2 inches would drop 5.5moa at 52 yards and 7.5moa at 56 yards, so any targets beyond those ranges would have a BC aiming point below the PiP window
A DS35-70 using x2 digital zoom has a total magnification on the main screen of x14
The main screen DOES show the BC aiming point
If you are shooting at air rifle or rimfire ranges do you really need more than x14 magnification?

Is there a way to align the ir on the gen2 ds35 70lrf? Tried mine out for the first time tonight since I purchased it from Blackwood outdoors & the ir beam is way to low, tried flood & spot also tried turning the end of the ir. , still no good! Any advice before I gets sent back!

The ring at the front of the IR that's used to change the IR beam width can be loosened allowing the lens to be moved around like its on a ball joint.
Move the lens around until the beam points where you want it then tighten up the ring

I'm fairly sure that feature was applicable to the Gen 1 only. The ir on the (inferior) Gen 2 ir doesn't appear to be adjustable.
 
Thanks, correct the gen2 is different, none adjustable by the look of it, also it has developed 3 black faults to the image! I've contacted Blackwood Outdoors, awaiting a reply as its not fit for purpose with these faults.
