Any Gold Stackers on SD?

Why does retail always look to buy at ATH? This is the time to SELL, not buy…. Forth coming rate cut and QE will bump equities, China eyeing Taiwan will push chip prices, Buy what’s cheap, not what’s expensive …

This special breed of species is called a "Gold Bug".

They used to be quite rare, but are becoming more common.

A precious metal ETF is less hassle.

Gold prices have been talked about in the MSM a little bit more often in the last week or so.

Maybe this is the start of the great leap forward for gold & silver. I did hear somewhere in the last few days about "Silver Whales" I think it was, 5000 oz silver bars. It's not obvious who is buying them at the moment, or where they are ending up. Makes my few ounces of silver look pretty sick, I can tell ya

Some good investing snippets, two from the Oracle.

* Two emotions, fear and greed (check out the Fear and Greed Index)

* Be bold when others are fearful" (And vice versa)

* When the tides goes out, you find out who has been swimming naked.

So if you buy a Brittania at £3180, is it worth only £100 at the bank for currency, if you sell the offering price will be in the region of £2880, how do you sell to even break even?

You don't buy gold as a short-term investment.
Indeed, some folks who buy gold are simply moving fiat currency into gold to protect their wealth. With all fiat currencies stretched to breaking point. America's total deficit is 37 trillion
Gold is going only one way, and that's up. Silver is the same, silver has gone up to £52 for a Britannia this week.

Got two chains round me neck everyday that I bought for about £300 that are now worth closer to £3000
That’s investing , it took over 30 yrs

Making a fast buck on gold is a non starter unless the numbers are in the 100’s of thousands.

Unless you can drop on with a miner
Have a look at Wishbone Gold - could be a nice earner

I do have a little gold and a considerably more silver, along with some other assets. However as stated early on in the tread, what I really want is some land, its just a bit of a struggle to find a good bit that is close enough to where I want.

At this stage I can't say I'm unhappy with my metal investments though. Much better than the mony sitting the bank getting slowly getting devalued by inflation.

Been watching Wishbone for a couple of years, have some cash invested but just missed the major SP jump.

Me too my pals got in at .36 Im in at just about the price now - could have had a good touch as they rose 2 weeks ago - but really could do well

I think land in this country has now got too much political risk attached - new and major tax liabilities, the threat if several more and increased risk of having it expropriated by the government or developers without proper compensation. I'd give it a wide berth for the next four years. Labour is too left wing and the civil service and Treasury are riddled with headcases now.

Well I don't really want the land as an (monetary) investment.

I'm looking to live a subsistence lifestyle on my own land. The investment is for mine and my children's future.

Not looking to make any money, just secure my family's future a little better.

Thankfully I live in a crofting county, as such getting it designated a croft would provide some reassurance it will be passed to my children and not taken from me.

Yeah, I just missed at that price, was going to buy if they dropped back a little further then they went on that run!! I'm in at same price as you, fingers crossed they will take off again.
