You can still get Three Nuns. But it's made by one of the big corporate tobacco barons who don't support small tobacconists so you're most likely to find it in supermarkets next to the St Bruno and the Condor.Do they still make Three Nuns Pipe tobacco. It’s what my grandfather smoked.
I have some of his fishing flies that he tied in a tobacco tin. It still has faint aroma of the tobacco and brings back instant memories of him with a fishing rod and his lurcher. At he died in the mid 1980’s.
As for smell nothing like a tobacco grading shed where individuals leaves are graded and packed after they have been dried. They use steam to moisten the dried leaves so the can be handled - it’s like a sauna filled with tobacco smell.
And the auction floors are also fantastic from a smell perspective.
As for smells, Capstick wrote an article on the aroma’s of different cartridges and powders. I have a good number of old Dickson branded paper cased cartridges loaded by Eley. I shoot a few every now and then and the smell is so evocative.
Ive had a few pipes from Smoke King.Savinelli Pipes

Try these. They're at Otley near Leeds. Massive range and good prices and the owner is a good bloke. Knows his products and will do a good deal. But beware, it's also a whisky shop. You may never leave..
Those Forestas look very similar to my Rattray's Samhain Which I only smoke the GH Exclusiv black cherry in.

Bought this from Smoke Kings a few weeks ago. Lovely little pipe. Use it for the coffee and caramel.

Ive ordered tobaccos from GH, always been pleased with them. You can still get Three Nuns. But it's made by the big corporate tobacco barons who don't support small tobacconists so you're most likely to find it in supermarkets next to the St Bruno and the Condor.
I like to buy Gawith Hoggarth because it's a local producer in Kendal and does support small shops. Excellent tobacco too, still producing old-fashioned Kendal flake, plug and twist.
I know what you mean. They do look very classy. My green Rattray is my coffee table pipe.@Finch what is it about pipes in that racing green which makes them so nice?

Very nice. I notice they're 6 mm. All my pipes are 9 mm. haven't tried a 6. Don't know how much difference it makes to the smoke. This is the Foresta I want, also like the St Nicholas and the Regimental.View attachment 286040

I did buy a Paterson church warden with no filter at all but I can't get on with it. Too harsh a smoke.
Like Morkai says, pipes are addictive collectibles.I now need a green pipe lol
I use filters in mine. Takes a lot of bite out without losing the taste. I'll have to try a 6mm. Hmmm. More collecting..I dont really put filters in which would further reduce the draw on 6mm, putting one in a 9mm may be ok.
I like the pull on a 6mm, 9mm is a bit too loose of a pull for me. 6mm for me draws like a cigarette.
Very. And tactile. You see a pipe and you want to pick it up.Aesthetically pleasing arent they.
