Anybody own a Freyr & Devik Featherweight 196 Moderator

Despite the “negative” press I bought a FW196 for my .308 and boy am I pleased I did! I see mods as consumables and if you think about it, they do live a very hard life! For range use, I use a Wilcat Evo but when stalking, I t’s always the F&D. I’m so impressed I bought a FW149 for my shortened (20”) Sako .243 and it has transformed into my go to roe/muntjac rifle. Like all costly kit, it pays to look after them and remember, it’s no T8 so don’t hammer it!

(Anyone know why my pictures rotate when inserted from my iPad?)

Try the 5th leg on the rear of the sticks. We tried it at WMS. Made a lot of difference.

On my second one used on a .223.The first showed signs of gas cutting through the central bor of the stack. It was cleaned after every use. It was replaced free of charge. The second one is doing the same. The other one I have is on a 6.5 with no issues. Both have fired similar amounts of rounds. Great noise reduction and light. The one showing the gas cutting will last for a few more years. I do think for the cost they should be better.
I have the 269 model and its doing the same as you said ,ive got a new stack but not sure how to get the old one out .Freyers answer was TRY a screw driver through the bars at bottom of stack .Question is how do you hold the bottom solid enough who did yours? Thanks Stewart
