Are these roe?

I have been asked to identify these deer. I immediately said roe, but then began to question myself.
I’m fully expecting to get some stick for this question 😁😂 but I suppose some times you just gotta except it 😆

Unless roe have developed black lines down their necks and horse shoe outlines in their rumps, I’d say sika
And the same effect can be seen on back of the necks in wet conditions, ultimately a couple of them on the deck will confirm that the trail cam is struggling at night.
Just realised, it's thru a scope, pretty bad focus & detail at that range.

The camera Is struggling but I would have to go with sika the neck on the left one Is just too thick, not to mention the dark dorsal stripe (I have seen roe with this in winter) and the horse-shoe like marking.
It also appears the right one has the slight outline of a tail there's a little too much on the back end for something too not be there.

Look at the cream underbelly too roe arent really lighter on there stomach by any means compared too the other species.

I have not seen a red up close in day light in a little while but I wouldn't be surprised if there starting to grow into there winter coat? If imagine sika are the same, If so white hair Is almost always the first hair to shed out and would explain the lack of spotting (though that could easy be down to the quality as well)

The problem is the original pics aren't the best and roe and sika can look similar. Much easier with daytime pics.
