Drive through town at 50 mph. They'll be in touch. So, I know I'm not supposed to, but I really want to give them a call and chase them.
Only issue is, they've removed all contact options on their site. How in the hell are you meant to contact them for anything now?
There is an option to contact the under "General query", I emailed them today (total waste of time btw). So, I know I'm not supposed to, but I really want to give them a call and chase them.

Government cuts to police funding have meant that resources have been reduced in non priority areas.
I wonder if the Coroner’s comments after Plymouth will see better funding for Firearms Licensing...
Damn! £74m ‘black hole’ in funding for Police Scotland will lead to severe cuts. I hadn’t read about this so I just Googled it. I don’t know anything about the Polis in Scotland, I met one once, but I couldn’t understand a word he was saying. I imagine that there is a lot of rural policing, so officers need to drive long distances. The rise in fuel costs alone will impact on them, before you cut the budget. Apologies to @Jh1986 for hijacking his post, but I don’t think people on here really understand the impact that cuts to the policing budget have had in recent years. It would be a bold Chief Constable today, who did not look to 'invest' in their Firearms Licensing Department.
Much needs to be down on a national level, but the current levels of funding - and consequently service, training and delivery cannot be allowed to continue as they have.
On funding:- I also note that the Chief of Police Scotland is 'going early' - he has just been informed there will be a cut of £74 million in funding for them. I wonder it the two issues are connected.
No bother at all, it's relevant. I can see the impact of cuts in terms of officers on the streets. There are probably more mating pairs of panda then bobbies on the beat.Apologies to @Jh1986 for hijacking his post, but I don’t think people on here really understand the impact that cuts to the policing budget have had in recent years.
There are more people working in your local McDonald’s than there are on duty in your local police station. No bother at all, it's relevant. I can see the impact of cuts in terms of officers on the streets. There are probably more mating pairs of panda then bobbies on the beat.
It's not uncommon for there to be less than 10 officers available for 999 response calls for the entire of East Sussex (I'm not including Brighton & Hove in that). That's about one officer for every 55k people and a single domestic will take three officers to deal so it's not long before there is no oneNo bother at all, it's relevant. I didn't believe you could ever call 999 and not get an answer, until it happened to my wife a while back. I collapsed, stopped breathing (all fine now). She called 999, and it rang and rang and rang before cutting off. It took her three goes to get an answer. Then got told it'd be around 2.5 hours for an ambulance (by this time I was conscious again). It's not uncommon for there to be less than 10 officers available for 999 response calls for the entire of East Sussex (I'm not including Brighton & Hove in that). Although Sussex and Surrey FLDs have collaborated they still have very "different" ways of working and all I'd say is that if you resided in Sussex I don't think you'd be waiting nearly as long.
It will just be new laws. I read somewhere that D&C now have nearly 90 people in firearms licensing which if correct is mind boggling.Sussex Police used to have 14 FEO’s. I understand that they now have 10.

Looks like it's progressing.
One of my referees called me yesterday. FEO called them and was discussing my request for .308 on first application. He said the FEO sounded VERY hesitant to grant something "that big" on first grant. Looks like I'll have a fight on my hands when they do turn up.
With copper basically the defacto standard now, .308 makes an awful lot of sense.
I’m surprised they discussed it! your referee is there as a character reference…not give subjective opinions on your specific application.Looks like it's progressing.

I did think the same but if they were to ask anyone other than me, then he was the one to ask. Grown up shooting with him all my life. Apparently there's now a question though, over whether or not he is admissable as a referee as he's a cousin.I’m surprised they discussed it! your referee is there as a character reference…not give subjective opinions on your specific application.
