Aurora borealis NOW U.K.

Truth be told, the camera picked up the colour. What you really see is white light, a bit like sun rays with the faint splash of colour. I had friends in remote locations who confirmed even without the light pollution of the towns it wasn’t much better. Although the experience was something, I am glad I haven’t travelled to a far off land for the chance. Which is somewhat of a gamble from what I have heard.

It was easier to see the colours by using your peripheral vision, although they were still desaturated.

As you said, they looked like sun rays if you looked directly at them.

It was fantastic last night.
I didn't notice it at first but everywhere was illuminated differently. I could see very well and kind of in colour too.
When I did look up I was amazed.

It reminded me of my love of particle science and quantum mechanics.
I could not explain a thing about it but I'll listen about the subject any time.

another G5 level event forecast for tonight, missed it last night despite having a look at midnight...should of used the mobile to check.

Think an effective video might need a tripod mounted camera set to capture time lapse. In most cases it moves too slowly for standard video.
