They dont mean for profit in the sense your saving for a Bentley Continental.BASC MEMBER but need other cover as they don't cover for beating ? as it is for profit ????![]()
Its really simple. You have domestic policies and you have commercial ones.
To put it simpler, sporting cover generally covers exactly that. No business element. A commercisl shooting policy covers commercial activity.
There is some degree of crossover though.
Some insurers will be OK if you claim petrol and ammo cost. Some will cover if you sell your quarry on. Some keep quiet. Some set a physical cash sum PA. Attitudes of the insurer and the underwriters vary considerably. If you dont check what you are covered for and what not then you can hardly complain if ignorance lays at your feet.
PL cover is important. I would not settle for anything less than 10 million for PL or indeed EL.
EL is often included as H&S definitions on amployee may be very different to your. If someone comes and makes coffee and make no charge forvtheir labour, it is quite possible the law and the H&SE view them as an employee.
Lots of wrinkles BUT IT IS UP TO YOU to make sure the cover you seek ties in with your activities. If a sporting policy doesnt cover it per se then certainly seek advice or a commercial policy but again, you need to check.
The basic covers ... what/is not covered is usually highlighted in their summary of cover... key facts.
