Basc voluntary lead ban

It also goes without saying, they could have had a similar discussion with wild justice at the game fair, many of the subjects spoke of in the preceding video. but instead chose to ban packham and co, something which wild justice converted to a publicity advantageous win.

1) Well bottom line is that of BASC or the "cartridge loaders' consortium!" one of you is lying about whether the cartridge loaders were consulted in the immediate release of the BASC statement on Monday or not. So which is it to be?

2) As this was a decision "taken by BASC Council" which is elected does this mean that is a new Council is elected that the decision can be reversed by a new Council?

3) If a vote of no confidence is taken at an EGM or an AGM in the present Council will they honour that vote and resign?

4) Was the vote at Council unanimous or were there dissenters? Was it a recorded vote? Who initiated the discussion? A Council member or a salaried member of BASC?

5) How do members carry out the process of a no confidence vote?

Please do answer these here, on this Forum.

...avoid using an MRI if you suspect a steel bullet -- say, an armor-piercing bullet with stainless steel cores, or steel shotgun pellet -- was involved in a past injury.

Which Bullets Are Safe in an MRI?

I've emailed NHS general enquiries to see what they have to say regarding steel shot & MRI scans.

(I've also emailed the US NRA & asked them to help set up a similar organisation here in the UK but I doubt I'll get a response...)

If you are a BASC member email council@basc.org.uk with these queries. Or direct message me for a chat on Monday?

The decision for BASC to join the other rural organisations in issuing the statement on Monday and again on Friday was taken by BASC Council. For more on BASC Council visit BASC Council - The British Association for Shooting and Conservation

For the latest information on lead ammunition visit www.basc.org.uk/lead

Happy to discuss with you on Monday - direct message me and we can take it from there.

OK then.

Explain why this is completely at odds with what the cartridge manufacturers actually said in their statement.

I was told in a personal email reply from BASC that they had consulted with cartridge makers.

This appears to be a barefaced lie, or a sign that BASC are employing a version of Doublespeak even Orwell would have been proud of.

Meanwhile my finger is figuratively hanging over the "cancel direct debit button" regarding my BASC & CA memberships.

Yes: it's THAT serious a breech of trust.

Oh & you're blocking direct messages, which is why I've posted this here.

this forum seems the ideal place to discuss, why does all correspondence have to be emails or pm,s or over the phone.
you cant deny it once its printed here.

I consider anything regarding this to be of public interest, so I'll post (& already have posted) relevant parts of personal emails.

Are BASC OK with this?

If not, why not?

Conor I am afraid I’ve given up with BASC, I messaged your organisation my reasons for leaving after almost two decades and never even got a reply, not that I expected one to be fair.

While there are clearly some good people in the company there is a number of detached individuals who are in positions of authority who either need to leave or give their heads a wobble or a combination of both.

Time and time again you prove yourselves to be a toothless tiger and then when the chance to be proactive appears you go full self destruct. Please start listening to your members while you still have some.

I’m afraid the latest lead shot announcement was the straw that broke the camels back, while I agree with plastics requiring to be biodegradable and think paper cases for cartridges is a good idea you have not only sold your members down the river but have played into the anti field sports fraternity’s hands.

How about using some of the members money to actually finance an independent peer reviewed scientific paper on lead shot - that would have been proactive not what has been done.

Members are fed up with “contact your MP” and we will ‘lobby politically’ sound bites which is your answer to any challenge rather than spending money, our money.

I fully expect you to not take any notice of this but the way things are going you won’t have many members left.

A lot of people now use you for insurance but alas even this is more expensive when the SGA offers the same protection for less money and have a vested interest in the people who pay this subscription hence a measured and sensible press release surrounding the matter.

For your into my membership number was 160013796.
