is it me or has the simple question of what are basc stringent measure. Not been answered?.

For everyone on sd can dave from basc or jelen just answer the question so we can all see !!!

Or is there no stringent quality measures ????.

No one is having a go at basc or jelen , very simple in my eyes just answer the 1 simple question

Presumably someone at Jelen is a BASC Assessor? I'm assuming that is all it will be.

I honestly don't greatly care, but I do think that some providers set themselves up for ridicule, proclaiming that they are 'the best'.

The Kennel Club set up its "Accredited Breeders Scheme" and then had to change the name to "Assured Breeders Scheme" as the word "accredited" had a specific meaning under I think it was the British Standards Institute quality regime.

So maybe "accredited" should at least be conferred by DMQ, and they should control the use of such a term in marketing contexts, but that would not stop other field organisations and even educational establishments from conferring the word "Assured" subject to quality testing to an industry agreed and audited standards.

We are already familiar with the word "Approved" for AW's etc...

I said this before. It's DMQ not BASC that needs to answer as to how a provider may be accredited for IT'S certification.
BASC is just one of many supplying DMQ certification.

I agree with Chris DMQ should be the awarding body and who the question or assured should be aimed at. But I did type DMQ in to Google and nothing came up .I then typed in DMQ basc and the DMQ page was first in the queue lol.
for any one really interested email Mandy at "admin@dmq.org.uk

BASC are the administration body that carries out the functional work for DMQ but BASC are NOT DMQ. This discussion was on here a while back but it's difficult for some people to see the line between BASC and DMQ especially when you phone up DMQ and they answer the phone ''good morning BASC''. They could at least put in a dedicated DMQ phone line!

I hear what people are saying about providers being regulated by DMQ but that has to be up to the assessment centres in terms of their in house quality control for teaching provision once approved by DMQ to assess to their standards. At the end of the day it's the assessment process of a centre that must be regulated to meet set DMQ standards, the training provision itself isn't really a concern so long as the assessment process is up to scratch.

Alex, the last time I questioned braggin and pass rates by providers using BASC accredited status to measure themselves above the rest of us guess what happened???? A complaint was made to my assessment centre by a BASC team member because the didn't like the questions or the truth. By the way North Highland College and Barony are the top two assessment centres by percentage pass rates and I know this because we asked.

Stringent standards to become accredited anyone?

If Peter wants to explain to us all what these stringent standards are being used in marketing as a major selling point then he can. Jelen simply didn't and neither did BASC in a private correspondance previously.

2P WORTH FOR WHAT ITS WORTH.

I am Still confused ,if the answer is not forthcoming then the question is! are we all being taught from the same song sheets or are the flags being held in a different boats and are they now only to be seen fluttering over mike ?

Come on BASC/DMQ sort this simple request out, there are a lot of us that wish to know the answer to the Question as put some way back in this post !!!, not putting this to rest is not doing anyone any good or making the the dsc transparent to all ? This is not a witch hunt to any provider of dsc training!!!! you all do a good job over 2k students passed can't be wrong ??? and as per my last post we the students who pay the fee's and if we pass its us who make up the pass rates ? . Its just a simple request that needs to be Answered to End a post and send a message to all that we all have been given the best training as set down and i (Quote) " BASC's stringent quality control requirements for providers"? WHAT DO'S IT MEAN . Or should the DMQ be moved out from under the wings of BASC,so to be seen as independent Body !!! prob not? .

I did mine via North Highland College and can recommend them without shadow of doubt. There have also been excellent reports I have read on here about Paul at Barony now I believe Paul at Fechan. Laurie Walton in Cumbria also has a good name. That said I was made well aware of what was expected of me and did my homework. It is the old saying the Six P's - PRIOR PREPARATION eliminates P--S POOR PERFORMANCE = a PASS.

Dear All,

Nick and I have been at the CLA since last Thursday and trust me access to the internet was poor to say the least, and have spent almost all of today unloading vans and packing up kit we took. Hence the silence - we have been working away for the last 5 days.

Peter went straight from the CLA to the Royal Welsh...

All assessors go through the same assessment, I will do my best to get you more details tomorrow.

There is nothing stopping someone who has passed the assessment from saying so, and they are fully entitled to of course.

Is it me or have you missed the question entirely?

The question posed is "what are your stringent quality control requirements" that someone needs to do to become BASC accredited?

No I have not missed the questions, Its simply a fact that I do not know all the details of the accreditation process and I will ask others tomorrow

David

Great thanks.
That's the key word "Acredition" not assessment.
Two entirely different things.

To me it is just advertising to make them sound the best there is. It's nothing for anyone to get their knickers in a twist about.
