best ballistic tipped bullets for 6.5 cals

i use nosler 120 bt in my swede, but found them a bit severe on the humble muntjac
so i decreased the powder charge by 2g and found another node ,which reduced the fps by 200 to avg [2750 fps]
they are better on munty now but would still like to reduce it more

excuse my ignorance but is that the end of the boat tail or where the bullet reaches full width?

I usually start my loads with the parallel sides of the bullet (the 'full width', as you put it) seated to the base of the neck. Never fails to put me in the right accuracy neighborhood if the other work on the load was good.~Muir

That's what I meant.

6.5x55 BT's

120gr Nosler BT are pretty good and very very accurate.
Load them to COL of 3.000 with IMR 4350 giving a velocity of 2,790 ft/sec

Having said that I'm going to have a play with Reloder 17 and 19 as it may give better powder burn and produce better velocity, if the accuracy is the same job done...

My 6.5x284 loves the 120 Grain Nosler BT. I run them at 3000fps.
In my experience they are not harsh on Roe at all and they drop Reds on the spot. I have never had the problems some have had with the Nosler Bullets causing excessive Carcass damage. Indeed when i ran a Swede i always used the 100 Grain Nosler BT to great effect.
