A quick question, a friend is looking for the best non-lead factory ammunition in 243 Win for roe deer that can be bought in the UK today. What do you recommend and where can you get it?

For factory ammo , the best I have used is sako powerhead 2 , but there like hens teeth at the moment !!,,,, but also like others have said the 80g fox are not be ignored

For the 243 @Edinburgh Rifles new Peregrine 100gn non toxic bullets look really interesting. They are stubby bullets designed to stabilise in the traditional 1 in 10 rifling of the the 243, and gather from Ed that results so far are very good.

And for us Scottish based stalkers this gives a bullet choice that is legal and non toxic on all deer. And I cannot be bothered with the faff of changing bullets for different species.

I'm only planning to work up a load for roe in the 6XC using 80 gr Fox. Waiting impatiently for the weather to improve so I can go and do some testing.

This looks like it may be the route I take if and when lead is banned , have always been a fan of .243 and don't have any
wish to change now.
