Best sling for a heavy rifle

The safety gun strap from best fox call works well with any sling when crawing. Also takes some of the weight off with a heavy rifle!

Crawling - I have both bisthalon and multi position TAB slings - simply hold the loose strap in the hand that’s holding the rifle
Thanks i may have confiused matters, if im on my belly i hold the rifle. However, my most recent outings only required be to crawl on all fours, and the rifle was lung over my back and basically kept slipping to one side. Its in this kind of posiotn i was thiking of.

Thank you to all for comments to my Q, much appreciated.

I find a solid leather sling works best. I see redneck supplies do the cobra style one for £25 to £35.

Easy enough to crawl on all fours with biathalon sling of straps tight - keeps rifle in position

In middle of your back

You may be better with it in a slip that can be dragged behind you though and take out slip when asked to ?

Side mount the sling on the stock so it is flat against your back, also use a harpsoe safely strap in conjunction with your normal sling (or whatever Z-aim derivative there is available). Takes the weight out beautifully. This is from a guy who has carried a lot of very heavy rifles up steep hills.
