What you might have said is "Creedmoor owners don't know what they're missing", as Castrol R is without doubt an oil for the Fast Set!

A lost generation indeed!

Got to be walnut stock oil, as previously mentioned. Sure the last stuff I used didn’t smell as good as the stuff I used 40 plus years ago. I can smell it even thinking about it.

Thinking of Castrol R, back in the 70s we used to put a drop or two in the tank of our 4 stroke bikes to get that racetrack smell. A mate with a 400/4 asked what it was and we said vegetable oil. He went round smelling like a chip shop for about a week after that. 😁

Anyone familiar with this stuff? Was in a bunch of gun oils and solvents from my uncle. Smells AMAZING!! I recall youngs 303 and Rangoon which had a nice distinctive smell but can’t say I recall it being similar

Up to selling my bikes a couple of years ago I always put some Castrol R40 2T oil in with the petrol. Supposed to replicate the R smell but never quite did.
