Best Thermal Scanner for Foxing

Just started fox shooting at night. I am using a Nocpix Vista H35 R. Seems fine for deer stalking in legal hours but clarity in warm conditions and at longer ranges isn’t great. What is the best thermal scanner you would recommend? Many thanks in advance for your advice.
 
If your not on a budget. 1280px Resolution and 60mm focal length lens, will give you good field of view and long detection range.

Thanks for responding. I thought about getting thermal binos for scanning but, as I scan and drive, it’s easier to do with a monocular. Can you recommend a high spec thermal monocular that would make a significant difference to scanning for foxes at night, including at range, and in challenging conditions? Ideally, I need to be able to ID them from further away so I can approach without alerting them. With my current monocular, I find I am IDing them more by how they move, which is tricky when they are sat still or laying up, and they are moving because of me rather than some other reason.

At distance with thermal it will be hit and miss without movement at range. Currently only the HX60L have a 60mm lens in a spotter in the UK for the longest detection range.

For ultimate ID you would be best with a good rear mounted NV unit.
 
I guess you did ask what’s the best. However you simply don’t need to spend 5k on a thermal lol plenty of much cheaper ones doing the job. Yes the expensive one will be clearer and blah blah.

Wondering if I should just switch to a Nocpix S60R or Rix Leap L12R. Using Hikmicro Alpex A50 EL at the moment and even with a good IR, range and clarity seem limited to circa 200-250 yards.

Was designed to be used one handed , i have one and its great and yes you can use it with one hand ( and focus it too )

Lots of places have them so shop about. Have had mine for 14 months of pain free use 👍👍

Check out the ThermTec Wild 650 PRO DL. It has a 25mm lens and a 50mm lens - brilliant for both close-range woodland scanning and wide-open long-range work.

I've been using it for three months and really can't fault it.



For one-handed operation, it is probably the best design out there.
 
The problem is none of what anyone adds will do much difference to what you have. Your using a 35mm lens system with 12um sensor. The only way to increase detail at range is realistically increasing lens focal length, unless someone releases a new 10um or less sensor which has other slight downfalls. Jumping to 50mm lens will be slightly better, but 60mm and 1280 are the best allround combination , You gain the best detection and retain excellent FOV, where as longer focal length lenses, when combined with 640 sensors, hurt FOV, 35mm and 640px is optimum for most people's use.
