Bib for high seat

Has anyone had the idea of using an ex army sleeping bag with holes cut in for arms and feet ??

I have a WWII tank sleeping bag. Basicly armes on it and a sleeping bag bottom you can lift a leg and step out of. Prety good thermal (I used it for fishing) but big and bulky to carry around

I have these which are very good but a tad small for me. I can get in and out with big boots on and they are warm but would be warmer if i could get a bigger size :(

No need for such radical alterations if you can locate what is often described as a ‘German Army Sniper Sleeping Bag’. A thin quilted inner and waterproof outer shell make it ideal for sitting up in a high seat, and the zip across the knees allows the lower part to be hitched up to waist level for walking in.

Yes that's what I have got for fishing

What about a under gilet that heats up off a battery pack & a set of heated insoles for feet ?

I find a bib ( or Salopette, same thing..) great for really cold winters days and to sit in a high seat, the advantage being you don't get your shirt/jumper creeping up and exposing your lower back....they are lovely warm and comfy. I use a Nomad Salopette, new they're around £370, but if you can find a used one in a good condition...
Exactly what I was going to say! Saves the chill on your back I’ve wore bib and brace for years whilst fishing including waking rivers and highly rate them. Mine aren’t as heavy as the deer hunters but I would def I let get them for sitting out.

Looking at getting bib for sitting out , not seen in the flesh but considering Deerhunter rusky or muflon both seem to have insulation not sure what difference is ,have read rusky can be to warm, anyone had their hands on either , or experienced using, opinions please thanks in advance lee

Have a look at carinthia overtrousers on eBay. Ex mil, dated olive green can sometimes be found cheap. Some are not goretex do watch out. My HIG ones are.

I like the look of these. But I'm not sure it's cold enough where I go. But if my knees keep giving me grief I'm on it.
I have a Swedteam version of this that I use for shorter winter foxing and boar trips. For proper all nighters I use an arctic sleeping bag.

I have an Ansitzsac like Carinthia Ansitzsack Hunter

They roll up so you can carry them to your seat or stand. The bottom unzips so you can stand up. Then you get into them and you keep toasty warm. I have sat out for several in woods during snow storms and been very comfortable. The pure Loden cloth are really warm and light but expensive. I have a slightly heavier but more affordable version.
A picnic blanket, waterproof on oneside makes a not too bad alternative - wrap it around you like a big skirt and sit down.
