Binos - Best Under £100?

For a pair of really good budget binos try the Barr & Stroud Skyline 8x42s that come in the "dummies guide to bird watching" if you can find them (no kidding!). Really good quality for under £100 (I'd be happy with them had I spent over double).

I was in sue Ryder charity shop on Monday and found a brand new, bxed and unopened pair of 10X42 Adler bins. Theses are Bak prism coated nitrogen filled and waterproof and paid a princely sum of £8 for them.

Was quite startled at the optics and so one son is going to have an unexpected extra Xmas present.

Right place, right time

+1 for Barr and Stroud. Mine are 8x42 Sierra. Fully multicoated with Bak4 glass. Solid waterproof and armoured binos and easily focused with one hand. Well matched to an S&B scope at twilight. All for under £90 with a 10 year guarantee.

if you are not hung up on design or fashion you could do worse than eBay and picking up old Zeiss, Leitz, Docter or similar

if you hunt around long enough you will get a bargain

I picked up some Leica Trinovids for £130 on UK eBay
I recently picked up some green armoured Leica Trinovids for a little more

As above before that I picked up some Vanguard 8x42 roof prism jobs for £50 which were my staple binos until I sold them for £50 to a nice chap on Pigeon Watch who is utterly delighted

I picked up a pair of Komz 8x30 for £10 at a boot sale, but ebay often have various ones for silly money. It seems to work well for me
