bipod recommendations

I've just bought a Javelin, and my god I love it!! make sure you get the long legs as the rest seem a little low for me. or if you have the cash to burn get the tactical hunt with adjustable legs! How often do you use your bipod? I was bored of carrying something on the rilfle that I would so rarely us, then attaching the javelin is so fast and easy and it is SOOOO light!!

I must admit, I still use the harris. Yes it does add a bit of weight and can dig into your shoulder but its always there and can be deployed in seconds.
I have lost count of the amount of missed opportunities by guests trying to attach some new super dooper bipod. They either can't get it out of their pocket, bumbag or bino pouch, and when they eventually do, they fumble about trying to attach it, then make clicking clacking noises doing so.
By then the deer is about 400yds away!
Good dependable harris is always there.

I use a nornehunt and have done for some time now. It stays on my bag in a molle pouch until required and takes a genuine 5 seconds to remove and fit. I could do it blindfolded in under 7 seconds I reckon

Hi I use a Spartan Javelin pro Hunt tac on a gunsmith adaptor. It’s great. I’m shooting Roe so most is off sticks so I like to have a clean stock for ease with the sticks. It’s an ‘occasional’ bipod but when I need it it’s amazing. I must admit that I swap back to the Harris for red deer given that I need the elevation. I wish I had bought the longer legs for the spartan.

Tier1 Evolution I really like, stuck with Harris for a longgg time and then bit the bullet.
I use for long range target and stalking, the big benefit of them for stalking is the shape and with the legs folding forward parallel with the barrel there’s not much to dig into your back when rifles on a sling like the Harris does.

Evolution Bipod

i was asking the same myself a month ago, bought a spartan pro hunt, moved about on the adaptor in the sling stud, fitted to all 4 rifles gunsmith adaptors, the glue i used didnt hold them very well, and there was to much movement, i think with the spartan gunsmith adaptors you have to be mindful of the stock your using, mine were all tikkas so one you drill into it, theres not much meat to glue it to, im now back to my old faithful thinking "why did i bother"
im now thinking of trying the tier one tac on a pic rail

To be completely honest, bipods are overrated, shoot over a roe sack or day pack or use quad sticks, makes for a far more pleasant carry experience and eliminates the risk of the ‘bounce’ of a bipod. Had them for years, after letting go, never looked back.

GMK do a good carbon one that isn't crazy money. I got one a couple of years ago and love it. Comes in three different sizes I think

I shoot off sticks mostly, but love the spartan javelin. I had a Harris but so rarely used it, it wasn’t worth carrying around. There’s holsters for the javelin so easily accessible if needed.

Also use Spartan gear. Have multiple bi pods with different size legs depending if range shooting, short grass, stubble, long grass, kneeling/sitting. Bipods that are permanently attached, very light weight, not as light weight detachable ones. Then the tripods and quad sticks fit on the same attachment mount and there’s options of push fit or Q/d sling attachment points. Leaps ahead of an old Harris. Plus carbon fibre is sexy🤪
