I would suggest it was the requirment of having to join the society. Big mistake in my book and they should embrace all . The only way they will increase there membership is if they show they are the right place for the owner and the dog to be. Try before you bye

You see stone i believe the BMH Society went about things in the wrong way instead of promoting the breed and its benefits to the deer stalking community they pushed forward with little thought to working ability to get the breed recognised by the KC at all costs
What acceptance do the society look for from the KC out of interest?I would support a group if it was worker motivation not motivated by acceptance by the KC

Now may i say best practice in deer and the use of deer dogs has absolutely no connection with the kennel club. If you think so your are sadly mistaken.
I have already seen a breeds (HWV) working ability almost disappear following that same path. Maybe your wrong for a change but then again that might never happen.
I would support a group if it was worker motivation not motivated by acceptance by the KC
Remember this picture stone it got me Banned and was a bit tongue in cheek but it was from an experience i had at a game fair from a society member.
