Boot recommendations

Hi everyone
My wife is looking for some new walking/stalking boots for when she is out walking the dogs. I am after some recommendation’s as she is going through the cheap ones and some reasonably priced ones at a rapid rate. A quick check showed she is walking 250 miles a month up in rural Aberdeenshire.
Couple of points no fur lined types of boots, she walks alot off grid paths so these need to be rugged, lightweight (if possible), waterproof and going to last if i can get 5 years out of them i would be happy.
Price is not necessarily an issue in this case really just looking for some good suggestions.

I would recommend going to Tiso and Craigdon and seeing what fits well. Hannah, Altberg, Meindl, etc. All good boots for dog walking but they have to be comfortable.

I'm looking for new walking boots myself, currently have Scarpa Maverick mid cut comfortable boots but they have never been waterproof in wet grass.

I. Was looking for a new pair online but now passing Tiso on Monday morning so will pop in.

5 years at 250 miles per month?
I would be looking something in the Altberg range, a good reason being that you can have them resole the boots when needed.
Use Ledergris and the leather will last years, supple and waterproof.

My wife walks several miles every day in Haix Cold / Wet Weather boots, and is often in them all day for days in a row. She has two pairs, and alternates them week by week. Both pairs were milsurps, ladies fit, and brand new in original box. About £60 per pair. She much prefers them to any other boots she's ever had.

Meindl and Hanwag are very good boots. I also have had a pair of Haix, which I have to say can't be beaten on the price. Picked a new pair in box up from ebay and they are still great for winter stalks/walking.

My eldest daughter is in the OTC at university. She has issued Itturi bouts (female specific fit) which she rates highly. Italian made and seemingly well put together. They survived the Yorkshire Three Peaks (as did her feet). Should be able to pick some up on eBay for not too much.

whichever good make model, albert/haix/lowa/meindl that fit well.... get two pairs so the leather has a chance to breathe and dry, remember that companies such as Altberg will resole/rand the boots of all of the makes for a reasonable price. the fit is the most important, especially if you have flippers instead of feet like me. I chose Altbergs or have to order the wide fit of the other makers

whatever you buy don't get anything with dubarry on them they are over prices crap.
the soles fell off mine and they're not water proof.i would have got more use fron a £2 pair of boots from a carbooty.
i would recommend zambalan though.

Have had a pair of dedito boots for about 4 years now. Have been brilliant and have been worn hard. About due for a new pair due to neglect, but they will still do as a spare pair.

All the makes mentioned on the thread are decent but it's really about personal fit more than anything. I've used Altberg, Hanwag, Meindl, Solomons etc etc and used them hard in military settings in all environments you can imagine and personally Lowas fit me best and I'll likely never buy another make of boot. Even so I don't think they're really better than the other makes, they just fit my wide feet really well. Go to Cotswolds or similar, try on a few and buy the most comfortable ones

Thank you everyone for your recommendations and feedback we have plenty to consider when purchasing my wifes next pair of boots.
Please keep the comments coming as i am certian I am not the only one facing this or a similar issue.

If you want longevity my preference would be Lowa Patrols - not the goretex ones. Keen them clean and polish/feed the leather regularly. I have had a set for 10 years and they have done a lot of work.
