I don't think so. You could only get a 22.250 or 5.6x57 for deer stalking at that time. They then slowly started to allow .270 etc .*
Interesting - was that the military calibre thing?

Is that an M77?There’s a brand new Ruger .220 Swift in McBrides in Athlone. I was half tempted. I’d say it’s the only one in the country that’s new.
Yeah it is. M77Is that an M77?
Ya, I was wondering alright if his website is up to date, I have a Ruger M77 itch, he looks like a man with a lot of walnut and steel rifles, must give a spin up to him.Yeah it is. M77
You can get Remington, SnB, and PPU for it.Ya, I was wondering alright if his website is up to date, I have a Ruger M77 itch, he looks like a man with a lot of walnut and steel rifles, must give a spin up to him.
Something completely different to think about, my Son just bought a Uberti 30.30, it a perfect 200 yarder, slick as buttered glass, and compact.
I’ve messaged him about it a couple of months ago, definitely in stock back then.Ya, I was wondering alright if his website is up to date, I have a Ruger M77 itch, he looks like a man with a lot of walnut and steel rifles, must give a spin up to him.

Have you been over the Kelly’s in Lahardane, Mayo. Very good to deal with, especially ammo.Hopefully he has mellowed out as tried to haggle when I was up there not long ago and practically laughed me out of the shop. Offered 1k on an €1100 shotgun
So the price you see is the price you pay.
Of course from your user name. Have a look on his website, send him a WhatsApp if you see something. He’s mad for dealing with customers. No as i'm Kildare and thats a bit of a trek for me.

We have a very nice 17 Rem Remington 700 in the shop. Close to Kinsale.Looking for a new foxing caliber, have tikka 223 that is great but boring to use and heavy to lug about. Looking for something slightly lighter.
Sadly since no reloading in the South of Ireland it will have to be something I can scrounge factory ammo for.
17rem looks fun and local rfd has some ammo in stock.
90% of my shooting is 250feet or less.
Happy to hear any and all suggestions ty.
Only those two in early 90's when I was there. I always laughed as they were both about the best one could have as a sniper.I don't think so. You could only get a 22.250 or 5.6x57 for deer stalking at that time. They then slowly started to allow .270 etc .
Something about the swift that just puts a smile on you’re face.220 Swift, absolutely no contest!!
Something about the swift that just puts a smile on you’re face. if you are a barrel manufacturer !
Really depends on how you shoot it, I have shot a swift now for 14 years and I’m still on the same barrel. If it’s only for foxes it will last a long time! I’m guessing I have 2500 shots on mine and if I miss a fox it’s my fault not the barrels.corrected that for you![]()
I had mine for roughly the same time, I shot a vixen and 4 cubs one after the other, those 5 shots were the start of the barrel’s demise. I know it was going to happen, but from then on in that was that. Mind I did fire a hell of a lot of shots. Would I have another, yes. But I prefer to only shot problem foxes now and work dogs on them. In my late teens early twenties, I tried my best to put foxes on the species red listReally depends on how you shoot it, I have shot a swift now for 14 years and I’m still on the same barrel. It’s a different story however if you are shooting strings of shots.
