Boyds Brno Stock

I see Boyds is making stocks for my old but very good Brno Zkk 270Winchester. I really consider a Classic grey Laminate stock to make it look like a just new rifle.

But anybody tried to fit a Boyds stock on the Brno? And are Boyds stocks heavy or light? My wooden stock is very heavy and + x56 scope and a moderator it gets pretty heavy to carry around.

Thats why I also have considered just going all in and buy a Mauser M12 Extreme. But if the boyds will work on my Brno it will be alot cheaper + my Brno is accurate so why fix something which isnt broken.

I have a Boyds stock on my old Parker Hale 270. If the Boyds/ Bruno stock is half as good it will be great.

I called them 3 weeks ago, I was told they are no longer taking orders from overseas customers. Is that good enough research? Believe me, I was bummed, I feel they they are one of the best bargains around for after-market stocks. I wanted their prarie hunter stock for a howa .243 so i rang them up. I will have to get my daughter in idaho to order it for me and then she can ship it to me.
More and more US companies are stopping overseas selling of gun parts.
No mention of a $100 maximum was made to me but then again the stock i wanted is about $350 all done.

I ordered a stock for a 10/22 earlier this week and it's been dispatched.

Just to clarify this. Do they or dont they ship to the uk? I want a stock for my howa to make it feel better but if they wont ship it will be a small fortune to buy a stock from the uk.

$99 limit plus postage, did it the other day. Ordered 3 but they cancalled it and told me i could only have 1. Wont ship tactical stocks either. Website is very clear.

I just got mine for my .243 BRNO ZKK , perfect drop in fit quick and easy transaction , my third stock - no problems at all.

:D

Boyds stocks are a great value if you want an aftermarket stock. I used to use Fajen but they went bust with Boyd's stepping in and buying their old stock. If you pick certain stocks from Boyd's you have custom options, so I was looking for their Prarie Hunter in XX Claro Walnut with black tip and cap along with ribbon checkering. Because this was well over their maximum I can only assume that that is why i was told they don't ship overseas anymore. However, we came up with a cunning plan. My daughter will order the stock if and when i require it and have it shipped to her, she will then re-label it and send it to me. She and I may have to look at other items we can do this with.
So, yes, I DID do my checking, going to the trouble of making an international call, so next time you choose to insult somebody Tusker perhaps you should think before you do it. I was given information by Boyds that was pertinent to MY situation and shared what I had been told by Boyd's. It is NOT your place to make a determination as to whether somebody has "checked" their facts, especially when YOU were not in possession of the information that I was given. I can only hope that you don't shoot off your gun as quickly as you shoot off your mouth.

Your probably aware of this, but make sure the billing address is in the States as well as the delivery address, or they won't ship it.;)

Yep! I just transfer the money to her bank account, she uses her credit card with her billing address. The guy I was talking with at Boyd's explained that to me, we thought it was actually a great idea, one way around the problem. I am going to have to get a Brownells catalog sent to her and just make out a shopping list, LOL!!!

If you try this with a UK based credit card "the guy at Boyds" will go totally ape-sh*t on you, with threats to call US Customs Department, etc... ~Muir

My daughter lives up in Idaho, so no UK based cards, and yes, I bet the little brat does hit me up for at least a "handling fee", especially if she has seen a pair of shoes she likes. Never mind how many times she has had to make a withdrawl from "The Bank Of Dad" over the past few years, LOL!
