Bringing back reloading equipment from the USA

We have a trip to the USA planned next month, we drive passed Bass Pro Shops I was after a RCBS automatic priming tool it's $170 quite a saving on uk prices would this be ok to bring back to the uk?
I think the allowance for duty is £300 odd pounds.
Weight isn't a problem as we have a generous luggage allowance.
Any advice would be much appreciated.

Go for it. I've brought back reloading related kit from Cabela's without any issues. Scopes could prove more of a problem, as can stocks. Crazy but that's the situation.

State side you'll be ok, as long as its not powder or ITAR restricted items.
Its only if you get stopped this side of the pond they might want some money.

Should be fine. I always bring back stuff from USA and Canada. Got 2x Quake claw slings 60% less than UK. Also Burris mounts much cheaper.
I have previously brought back powder tricklers, dies, gauges and alike.

When I was in Canada last year I hurried to a gun shop in Calgary. It was huge. The quantities were amazing. They had everything. Only trouble was.............the price. Not really a saving on most of the stuff that you can bring back.

Repeating much of what’s already been said but yeah, couple weeks ago flew back from Austin to Heathrow, few knives and a hand priming tool in checked in luggage and all came through fine. From what I’ve heard if they’re willing to, you can ask the shop to slap a $20 label on incase they ask you to pay customs and import but chances are you’ll be fine.

Just a closing note!
Can't find anything on the UK government sites could I bring back a RCBS Chargemaster link?
At the moment they are $ 263 dollars that's sub £200 checked the electrical supply it's ok for uk use.
UK allowances around £380.

Go for it, last 2 trips to Canada I bought quite a lot of shooting gear , and bits and pieces of reloading gear, ok I was chancing my luck coming back into the uk with customs but made it through with no probs both times

I always stop in at Bass Pro when in Canada (usually Toronto or Ottawa), in fact am wearing some of their branded socks at the moment. There’s some good deals to be had.

I have had my bag searched by Canadian border force who left a note to say as much, they didn’t remove anything though (suspect brass or bullets triggered it - maybe the MDT stock? 🤷‍♂️ ). Never any problems coming out of US for non ITAR stuff.

Many thanks once again for the advice and reply's.
My friend is going to order my list as he lives in the USA and fingers crossed it will be waiting for me in the hotel we are staying in, ( cleared this with the hotel )
Short cruise then back to Miami then the uk.
Presume RCBS has an international warranty? I will find out before he orders it, ( chargemaster link bit )

I bought mine back from Kansas, no idea about warranty but would expect it not to be honoured by uk network. The saving more than makes up for that issue in my eyes. Over the years I've brought heaps of reloading gear back from the USA in my checked luggage.

Will you be hit for US sales tax? Usually federal tax is always applied but when stuff is posted out of state the state sales tax does not apply (seems to me a great way to support interstate mail sales).

To be honest I don't know my friend lives in Philly I will be in Florida I can ask him later today

RCBS warrenty has always been spot on whenever I’ve need to use it. They sent parts internationally FOC, can’t ask for more. I’ve had my chargemaster for 17 / 18 years at least? Brilliant bit of kit.

Yes state tax is 7.5% so $30 still saves £175 from uk prices.

Well! Just a quick update.
My friend sent the goods to the hotel we were staying at in Florida as planned, the boxes just about fitted in my suitcases.
Put everything in checked bags for both the cruise we were on and boarding the flight home from Miami no problems whatsoever.
Landed in UK again no problems, this may help others considering this option.
Many thanks for the advice I was given, much appreciated.
