It appears they have cut it really short, I wouldnt buy this one either.. I would wait for something in better condition. cant cut a barrel down by half and expect the ballistics of a 308 cartridge to remain the same (probably why its being sold.)

20 year in Africa I had a 601 375HH Brilliant I then bought two cheap in the uk and re-barrelled them to 458 lott and 416 rigby

If it is the one flagged up on gunstar I would give it a miss. 13" bbl is good for a .22 RF a tad short for a CF unless its done for a particular job.

I have had six Brno's, four of them 243. These rifles being cheap to purchase are often sold to beginners as starting rifles and then upgraded for a nice Sako within a year. They often slip through the net in the maintenance stakes. I speak from personal experience as everyone I have bought needed some work done on the feeding and extraction. That being said, they are strong, well made rifles with usually nice wood and integral bases and very highly thought of in the USA.
My present one is cut and threaded at 20"which is close behind the ramp front sight and is very accurate. I then machine the sight and time it to fit back on to the thread in order to use on open sights by removing the scope and mounts.
Don't be put off by Chinese whispers they can be great wee guns when they come up and are well worth the asking prices around the £200.00 mark. Always have them bore scoped before you buy, even from a distant seller, it is not unreasonable to ask, as is topical just now on the forum.

When I have them shooting way I want them, I usually move on to the next challenge. As in reloading, it is an important part of my hobby. john

Great advise , I'm a big fan of the older rifles , but I give them a good going over before buying . Like you , I'm only interested in rifles while I'm getting them sorted out . Once they're shooting well and working properly , I loose interest and move them on for the next project , it's a disease , but a fun one .
