Browning x bolt or tikka t3x

Worked on both

Whilst the Browning is a good serviceable rifle - the T3 surpasses it

Browning trigger heavy and only adjustable by changing the sear spring which whilst reduces the weight does not reduce creep

Tikka trigger crisp and usually excellent out the box

Browning bolt smoother than some but Tikka cycling is glass smooth

Browning safety nice if you like shotgun type

Browning scope base mounting unique to that brand though secure when fitted correctly

Tikka when fitted with picatinny rail is in my view better

Stocks on Browning not as durable as Tikka

Accuracy quite similar

Tikka magazines better (sinpler )

Browning cheaper to purchase

Both can be rebarrelled though browning relies on sandwich washer type recoil lug Whixh is a little flimsy

Browning more suitable for woodland lightweight stalker

Tikka can do all

Try both

Pick what suits your needs best
An interesting take on both rifles from someone who’s worked on both extensively. The last point is very important and often overlooked - some rifles just don’t fit or feel right for some people, meaning it will likely not shoot well for you.

Sorry but some of your reasons don,t add up
Fitting a rail to a tikka, same as fitting a rail to a browning,

Non dura stocks same as tikka , cheap plastic
Browning actions, smother and shorter stroke not a one size fits all
Browning properly bedded instead of the dodgy tikka one lug
I could go on but I shoot a Kimber.

I own both, however if I had to choose I would go to the tikka. The Browning is just as accurate out the box as the tikka and I feel it is just as good in build quality.

Personal choice would be the tikka as there’s more options available later on if you want to upgrade or change about. When I enquired about changing the barrel on my browning, I was told their an absolute nightmare if not impossible to change without damaging the breech. Not sure how accurate that information is but it did come from a reputable gun smith.

Never tried a Browning but love my Tikka's. I would recommend the stainless laminate sporter tho' over the lite purely on aesthetic grounds & feel. ( Have one in .223 for foxing & Munties). That said, I have the Varmint in .243 & with its' Tupperware stock it's still light enough for walking about.
Accuracy of both is excellent, as are the triggers.
