So.....the meindl fault strikes again...back in Jan a brand new pair of Meindl Dovre's lasted all of 1 day.....before the rubber rand started to peel away contacted bushwear sent them back....replacement pair sent a week or so later....so that pair on start of this shooting season lasted a few weeks.....rubber rand peeling away ....sent back to bushwear asked for refund as i don't want another pair....this time bushwear have sent them to meindl to wait 2 to 3 weeks to decide if they will repair or replace.....i don't want the boots back....why would i want them again....

Anyone else had this hassle with bushwear ?

And what alternatives are everyone else wearing....struggling as all my old pairs leak and bushwear are wasting time

You would think it would justify a full refund the fact there's a major problem. Trouble is they have your money and you don't have any boots. Good luck with your case

Thanks....apparantly meindl aka bramwell int....have said due to sickness and holidays they are running behind which means due to the volumes of boots being returned more like 🙄 happy days

Someone at a meeting will have suggested to use cheap glue to save money !! Or there made in China now. Its a good product spoiled I was fancying some kibo or glockner but I'm put off

This isn't a new problem, I bought a new pair some years back & within a few months the sole was falling off - these are the moulded soles which look like foam rubber inside when they break down & fall apart. I got a new pair through the retailer but it took a while so as an interim I bought a s/h pair of army surplus, can’t remember which ones but they did the job so the new boots I got were stashed in the cupboard for use when eventually required. Fast forward to last winter & I got the new Meindl out. Same thing happened, within a short period of time the soles (heel) started to come off the boot. It didn’t take long for them to become totally fubar’d. Have now got a nice comfy pair of Iturri ECW boots ‘as issued’ & hopefully the end of the problem.

On the other hand, I have a pair of Meindl Desert Fox ‘dessies’ that I have had for years & literally live in during the summer. Whilst I know people who have had the soles come off these in short order, mine are perfect still.

I recommend Haix cold / wet weather boots. About £65 milsurp, so buy two pairs and alternate them. They'll last for ages.
Milsurp Altbergs are good too, but the lacing eyelets are a bit of a faff.

VSS and Topscot have it right. The problem is that the prices are going up as people keep recommending them. I was buying new at £60 now £100. Please SD members stop recommending HAIX cold weather and Altberg defenders especially in size 11W

I’ve have two pairs of Danners , coming up to 16 years now . Just send them back stateside every couple of years , they take the boot apart replace any damaged linings , new insoles , new sole basically give you a new pair of broken in boots .
