Case trimming

After some advice might sound daft but if you don’t ask you don’t know.

When trimming cases to length - is it best to do before or after bumping the shoulders back. I’m currently full length sizing if that makes any difference?

Thanks in advance guys.

Incidentally, at the danger of hijacking this thread, I use a Lee zip trimmer thingie to do mine. Which works okay. But I was thinking what else is there that would work easier, without spending a fortune.

I've started using the lee trim dies with deluxe cutter, so far I like it, I also liked the simplicity of the case length gauge, the rcbs trimmer I have rarely gets used

I have a Lyman one - seems a bit faffy setting it up. Seems bang on now but would long fancy swapping calibres all the time.

Easier and inexpensive are going to be at odds with each other.

There are caliber specific ones that aren't too expensive (WFT for example) that will work for those that only have one or two type of cartridges to trim. At the other end of the spectrum, you can spend $600-$1000 for truly "easy" and "fast" (Giraud & Henderson come to mind), but those are geared more for doing hundreds or thousands of cases in one sitting.

I only trim every two or three reloads to be honest (if I remember), and even then it doesn't take off much metal with my .270 reloads. I use the Lee trim dies and quick trim. Very quick, consistent, and gives an internal and external chamfer
